Penang Grill at Promenade Greenhills

Spotted! M and I bought a blackberry last weekend at Greenhills. After that very tiring and stressfull haggling and walking along literally a thousand cellphone stalls, M told me that she was hungry and ready to eat. Well the reason also why we ate at Penang Grill was because we needed at socket plug to charge her new blackberry (we ended up buying a the Globe Business Center BTW). Anyway, obviously Penang Grill is Malaysian food. I would think that Malaysian food is a fusion of Filipino and Chinese food. M ate the Haianese Chicken or steamed chicken, and I hate Fish Fillet kari (lapu lapu). M's chicken kinda reminded me of chicken tinola only without the rice. Or maybe just because it was color white? It was also bland by the way because it was steamed. My fish fillet reminded me of chicken curry. Weird right? Or maybe it was just because it was soaked in some sort of red curry sauce. I would have to say asian cuisine has so many spices, and most of them acquired tastes! This trip to Penang Grill reminded why I hate Malaysian food so much. When we were in Kuala Lumpur, I didn't even go near those Nasi Lemaks and those curry stuff! So my recommendation? Be safe this time and not go for this asian resto.

By the way, their houseblend ice tea also sucks. I usually taste all houseblend ice teas, and so far, this is the worst. It was too sweet, almost like Nestea or Lipton.

The price was moderate. We paid almost 800 pesos for these dishes plus the 2 bottomless ice teas. Maybe you'll spend almost 300 per plate at this resto.
