After we killed time at Sofitel, we decided to have some late dinner at our favorite Korean Restaurant along Macapagal Avenue - Maru.
Maru is open till 4am and when you dine there, the restaurant shall provide 8 complimentary side dishes, which are equally yummy and satisfying. These 8 side dishes are also varied when you go there, such is imperative since this shall entail you to sample different kinds of Korean food everytime you visit. I took some photos of them below...

Up close photographs and some descriptions after the jump...
This side dish is something like a salted banana strip or something. Its quite crispy too.
This potato dish is usually what you will get everytime you visit. Nothing new here.
Green leafy vegetables and carrots, which everyone loves. Yum!
Loved this sweet potatoes.
Tofu and the Kimchi cake or omelet.
These I thought was mushrooms, but they are actually innards/intestines of porcine. I did not love it, but it was ok.
Kimchi, a traditional Korean pickled veggies. Spicyness, so beware. I usually mix the kimchi with rice. Yum!
Korean Spicy Clams, an appetizer that I don't want to try. But my friend says its yum.
We also ordered - Japchae, a Korean dish made from cellophane noodles (called dangmyeon), stir fried in sesame oil with various vegetables (typically thinly-sliced carrots, onion, spinach, and mushrooms), sometimes served with beef, and flavoured with soy sauce, and sweetened with sugar. It is usually served garnished with sesame seeds and slivers of chili. It may be served either hot or cold.
We ordered some Beef Bulgogi too. This bulgogi is served like a soup in Maru.
Truevali definitely recommends Maru - great food, great service, clean facilites and relatively inexpensive. For this, we've only spent PHP 700. Go and dine at Maru and sample the 8 free Korean side dishes now!
