Globe Supersurf pricedrop

Spotted! I just love Globe (sometimes). They dropped the prices for their unlimited data plan from 1200 to 999. But IMHO, it still should drop. With all those mini data plans at 300 per month, adding it all up would not be 999.

Omakase Dynamite Roll

Spotted! I know this dish has been posted several times in this blog. But you have to admit, you will never get tired of this 8 piece (sorry I ate the others. yum!) gourmet maki from Omakase. You can choose between salmon or tuna as the topping for this 240 peso dish. Apparently Omakase has 5 branches now. They are at Tomas Morato, Alabang, Greenhills, Libis, and Ayala Triangle.

The QuickDelivery Service Experience: Restaurante Pia Y Damaso

We attracted Quickdelivery! Now here's a review on our 2nd QuickDelivery Service Experience. The restaurant of Choice: Restaurante Pia Y Damaso. We did a Lala Nights feature on Damaso way back 2009 too. If you want to be up to speed, here is the link to our first quickdelivery experience. Now, we focus on the agent who proactively suggested the best sellers of this featured restaurant.

So the agent offered us to order...

Lengua Sevillana with olives and mushrooms. We love this most of all. The Lengua is tender and the flavour is trapped within the meat. Kind of reminded us of my Lola's famous Mechado recipe. Delish, delish!

Mixed Greens With crisp liempo, tomatoes, jackfruit, vinaigrette and seared Davao goat's Cheese. This is one of my favorite salads, this we usually order when we dine in at Damaso in Greenbelt 5. You will think though that it's Feta cheese, but its actually just Goat Cheese. Don't know the difference? Here. I love it also that it came from Davao. Kudos for the agent who suggested this, makes you wonder if the girl who attended our call actually ate here already at Damaso.

Bacalao a la Vizcaina. Bacalao is Spanish for cod fish. The Vizcania style of cooking the salty cod fish is combining it with the sweeter taste of tomato sauce, garlic and roasted red pepper. We love Quickdelivery for separating the sauce from the cod fish while being delivered, mixing it already will eliminate the natural taste of the Bacalao. Like!

Smoked Tapang Usa, with Roasted Vegetable Scramble, Salted deer meat from Nueva Ecija, green mango pickles, pepper omelette and garlic rice. This is our 2nd best choice for Restaurante Pia Y Damaso after the Lengua Sevillana. The deer meat is perfectly cooked Tapa style and the omellete made it more delish. Kudos for the agent who suggested this. Now, I must say the Quickdelivery agents are cultured like moi. :p

The Quick Delivery service

The Quickdelivery Service is excellent as usual, most of the agents we encountered on the phone have provided us great customer service nonetheless. The food delivery is truly quick and reasonably delivered on time. The coverage is also wide more so if you are a patron of Quickdelivery, they will deliver anywhere within the Metro. Note that we live in Capitol Hills and Quickdelivery provided us service even if the food will still come from Greenbelt Makati. Most importantly, the food is also perfectly sealed and packaged in a microwaveable container for easy storage in the fridge, this we super love. Truevali recommends you try it too.

You know you love it!

Red Kimono Maki Platter

FGC to Beijing ~ Shanghai

As you know, we are going to Beijing. Now since we are already in China with the VISA application cost and all, Patti said we might as well go to Shanghai too.

With full powerpoint presentation projected on the wall of L's flat, Patti convinced us to finally decide to go to the Paris of the East - Shanghai.

Though, to be honest, what made us finally decide to go were the slides above. Yum! Char. So ni hao ma Chinese Hunk Candies! Lovely!

Review of Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right: boo lesbian oral sex!

As I chilled in our posh resthouse north of the Metro this Yuletide weekend, I thought of indulging myself in a marathon of the up-and-coming movies that Hollywood has been buzzing about lately.

First up was the tale of a lesbian couple played wonderfully by the beautiful Annette Bening and Julianne Moore whose two kids are curiously contemplating on finding their biological father. When they eventually meet the sperm donor played by the scruffy Mark Ruffalo, you know something was about to get interesting. The cast is just divine with Annette Bening as a stand-out as she plays that uber-strict, possessive parent determined to ensure her family stays together. You have to watch that scene where she excellently portrayed an uneasy, awkard moment during dinner after she finds out one dirty little secret. All-in-all, the movie was a blast to watch and Mark's butt exposure just made it so much better.

Challenging Annette Bening come awards season is the portrayal of Natalie Portman as a young ballerina suffering from split/multiple personality disorder in Black Swan. As Nina Sayers, Portman has always dreamed to play the lead in the production of Swan Lake but her conservative attitude makes it unbelievable for her to play the devilish Black Swan character. This is until something obviously changes about her. Portman is perfect and she obviously worked hard for this role. This film does not exactly make you a fan of ballet and to an extent, it even scares you out of ballet. The ending is as heart-stopping and arresting as that of Inception with a twist that's to-die-for. You may find it a bit too dark, and the pacing a bit slow, but the movie overallis just an excellent piece of work.

Now I love both films, but for the love of God, why was there a need to feature a very graphic and disturbing lesbian oral sex scene for both movies? Who wants to see two women tongue-ing each other as opposed to gay oral sex which is just more interesting and fun? If only Brokeback Mountain had a scene like that!

Lotsa hugs and kisses!

BFast at Ayala Traingle Gardens by Chef Laudico

You guessed it right, its Filipino breakfast food all day! That's quite nice in our opinion, more so if the proprietor is Chef Laudico himself. Quite a tasteful delight for this bustling area in Makati's new premiere destination - Ayala Triangle Gardens.

The ambiance with the park view is lovely. The decor was a bit country slash canteen. I did not love it. Though the staff said that everything is green and eco friendly, they even use recycled plastic wares for plates and cups, manufactured by pop brand Preserve ($20 per set includes bowls, plates and cups). So I guess I should love anything green!

So we ordered Tapangusilog, a tasteful Angus Beef Tapa with all-Pinoy sinangag (fried rice), atsara and egg toppings. This one is a must order! The Angus Beef is superb. I wish though they use a less strong Vinegar i.e. Del Monte's Vinigar.

The Carbonarra is filing. We feel it has a lot of egg base. Still delish though.

Then we ordered the lovely Panna Cotta with coconut syrup and Suman, with mangoes on the side. This one is easy on the eyes. It could've tasted better with more sweeteners though. Oh who am I kidding? I'm just too much of a sweet tooth!

Anyhow, I have been going back at BFast for lunch to relish the yum Tapangus. So, Bravo Chef Laudico! Truevali recommends you try Chef Laudico's BFast too.

Socialites at Ayala Triangle Gardens

If you're still living inside a loo, then poor and smelly you. Ayala Triangle Gardens is the new place to dine in Makati. The old Ugarte Field was converted into a now lush park with some gustatory delightful establishments at its peripheree. Not exactly Central Park size, but think of KLCC levels. Now, all Manila Gay Socialites must dine at every restaurant here. But be careful and make reservations early though, cause we cannot be seen standing in queue with the commoners. Pleehiiiss! Char!

C2 Classic Cuisine at SM Interior Zone

Because of their superb food choices, C2 Classic Cuisine has always been a favorite by many foodistas.

Last weekend, when I was scouting for a perfect bed frame for my new zen-inspired bed at the new SM Interior Zone at North EDSA, I noticed there was a C2 branch there, seemingly ready for my petite munchpunchy appetite.

The ambiance was not like the Shangri-La or Greenhills, but its ok, for the staff was very helpful. Also, absolutely no crowd here. Its heaven!

I ordered the Binagoong Lechon Kawali with eggplant, which are liempo cuts fried to Chicharon Crispyness. Love! I also got the Sizzling Crispy Dinuguan, which is my favorite. And for the soup, I got the tasteful Almondigas, its fresh meatballs in a misua broth. Lovely! Truevali recommends you try this C2 branch too. Till next Lala Aunor!

Golden Bay Seafood Restaurant Macapagal Avenue

fo

One of the best places to eat Chinese food is Golden Bay Fresh Seafood Restaurant along Macapagal Avenue (en route to Mall of Asia from EDSA, turn left to Macapagal).

We had some holiday event here and James Yap and Bimbiiiiiiiiiii (not sure of the spelling of Baby James' nickname... Reads like it though. Lol) was also present as guests of honor. Mr Yap, Basketball player who became a supreme A-Lister post-Kris Aquino, is actually not so tall and not so cute. (Choosy!)

Going back, the food here has always been awesomeness. I ordered additional Lemon Chicken and the Fookien Misua, which I partially ate. Set meals or ala carte are your choices here. Set meals price range is from PHP 8,000 to PHP 32,000.

There are also some Fresh Seafood selections such as eel, crabs, prawn, sea mantis, etc. This place is nostalgic cause it reminds me of the fabulous Fresh Seafood Restaurant in Cubao in the early 90's. Lovely! Truevali recommends you try it at Golden Bay too!

My 2010 milestones. Greatest year ever!

Spotted! My 2010 is over. Lots of things to reflect about my 2010. Lots of things to be thankful for. Lots of changes that happened that made me what am I today. So I would like to share to you, our followers, the milestones of my spectacular year.

1. I realized that I am an educator. Teaching is a noble profession. I was able to impart knowledge to others so that they will become a better person. I was able to teach young professionals and TESDA scholars to reach their career aspirations as I have reached mine.

2. I moved in to my new home, my own. I will always appreciate and remember my roots, where I come from. With this new move, I would have total independence. This will really teach to be more responsible in life; financially, socially, and personally.

3. I got my dream job, lost it, and now with my new career and dream I am building, I realized it's not as bad. I realized that my dream before is not my destiny. I would never have known that, not unless I got through that life changing professional experience.

4. I finished all my MBA courses. I know I still have to take my comprehensive exam on February, but I just know I will pass it. The 2 years and 6 months is really an achievement considering I was working full time, working part time, and having the time of my life with all the changes that are happening. Until now I don't know how survived my sleepless weeks. I am living proof it's possible to further your education even if you are prioritizing your career.

5. I renewed my faith with God. I am always a faithful Catholic don't get me wrong. But this year, I was really overwhelmed with grace, especially when I transitioned to my new career last July. I prayed, he provided, gave me even more. I needed it at that time to survive. God really works in mysterious ways.

Maybe for you, 5 things aren't really eventful, but for me, these are the changes that molded me for 2010. Now as tradition, I will also state my resolution for 2011. With all the blessings I have been receiving, I promise to share them with others. I pray to have more, to share more.

Viva 2011. May you be better than the previous year!

XOXO
